PSB - helping to transform the Isle of Dogs

PSB UK Limited has secured and completed two major contracts worth £500,000 for the detailed design, supply and installation of a basement Car Park ventilation system plus ancillary high risk room ventilation schemes for Indescon Court; along with a smoke control project for vehicle stacker systems within the car parking environment on the same site at The Millharbour development.

Both schemes for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on the Isle of Dogs, were for the main contractor C J O’Shea on behalf of developer Galliards Construction.

The PSB systems on this two acre new, mixed use site comprising retail, hotel, workspace and community facilities south of Canary Wharf called the “heart of the millennium quarter” are designed to provide air ventilation, controlled by carbon monoxide monitoring, along with smoke and heat detection screening within the enclosed, below ground vehicle spaces as directed by Tower Hamlets Building Control.

The contract period for installation was short and challenging specifically with a significant number of other services already working within the basement ceiling areas. The design, building and installation of the ventilation systems - all controlled by the PSB project team - was achieved on time and within the client’s agreed programme of works.
